Ella Sue "Granny" Crabtree, 92, of Riceville, TN passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at her residence. A daughter of the late Bronce and Lillie Elkins. She was a longtime member of Double Springs Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday school teacher for the adult ladies class and also an assistant Sunday school teacher.

Preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Crabtree; her only child, Carlin Crabtree; parents, listed above; step-mother, Beulah Elkins; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Sybil Elkins; brother, Cletus Elkins; and several step-brothers and sister.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Lynette Crabtree; grandson and wife, David and Mary Crabtree; daughter-in-law, Pat Crabtree; 4 nieces, Barbara and husband John Jones, Joan Williams, Rhonda Elkins and Lisa Lee; 2 nephews, Ed and wife Darlene Elkins, Mitch and wife Janie Elkins; and sister-in-law, Catherine Elkins.

Granny was a very special, loving lady to all who knew her, a strong Christian, always praying for people and was there to talk to them. Before her declining health she would do anything to help anyone. She was much loved by her family and all who knew her. She will be missed so very much.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday April 23, 2016 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Curtis Jordan, Rev. Byron Talbot and niece, Barbara Jones officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service. Interment will follow service at Jones Chapel Cemetery.

Taylor Cook, Glen Davis, Scott Wilson, Ray Guffey, Glenn Riggs, Craig Riley, Mitch Elkins and Ed Elkins will serve as pallbearers.
