Emma Sue Haney, 87, of Etowah, died late Sunday night, January 10, 2010 at NHC Health Care in Athens. A daughter of the late Henry and Mary Morris, she was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. She was a retired LPN, and was a member of the Wesleyanna United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Hale; a grandson, Tim Cain; a brother, Earl Morris; and a sister, Mildred Moore. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, R.L. Haney of Athens; two daughters, Gail Cain of Etowah, and Glenda Wallace of Chattanooga; former son-in-law, Ronnie Cain; grandchildren and spouses, Jeff Cain, Greg and Patty Cain, Cindy and Bobby Buckner, Neal Wallace and Heather Farley; 6 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Ogle Wattenbarger, the Rev. Scott Wilks and Brother Jerry Manders officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14th for the committal service.
