Emmett Arlen Richeson, age 71, of Athens, passed away, Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital. A resident of Athens, he was a son of the late Roy and Hazel Richeson. He served in the U.S. Army and was an electrical engineer at Olin Chemical for 35 years. He was a member of Carlock Methodist Church and attended North Etowah Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Etowah Town Band. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 37 years, Sandra Richeson; his parents, listed above; and on brother, Nelson Richeson. Survivors include, one son and daughter-in-law, Arlie and Chey Richeson of Etowah, TN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Eddie Rowland of Athens, TN and Crystal and Jeremy Waldroup of Athens, TN; one sister and brother-in-law, Marylin and O'Dell Gates of Old Fort, TN; seven grandchildren, Les and Carrie Gray, Joseph and Makaila Martin, Jason and Ceirra Culpepper, Emmett Richeson, Royce Richeson, Jessica Rowland, and Natalee Rowland; three great-grandchildren, James Grey, Kaylee Richeson, and Daniel Martin and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012, in the South Chapel, of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy McCarter officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Bordwine Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 4th and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m., committal service.
