Emmitt "E.W." Cooley, 84 of Etowah, TN passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 at his residence. He retired from Bowater after 38 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Burley and Ethel Cooley; brothers, Fred Cooley and Jackie Cooley; sisters, Margie Cooley Smith and Barbara Cooley Harmon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Wanda Brock Cooley; son, Mike Cooley (LaVonda); daughter, Michelle Cooley Cox; grandchildren, Chad Cooley, Chris Cooley, and Kayla Cox; great grandchildren, Brylee Cooley, Gunner Cooley, and Annslee Cooley; brothers, Bob Cooley (Gladys) and B.W. "Bug" Cooley (Judy); several nieces and nephews.

His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of his life.

Due to the COVID-19 regulations, set by the CDC, of no more than 10 people gathering at a time, the family will have a private graveside service at McMinn Memory Gardens Monday, March 30, 2020 with Brad Bates and Dennis Bordwine officiating.
