It is with great sadness, yet peace of heart, that we announce the passing of Erma Daniel Singletary, 66, of Etowah. She ran the race with perseverance and finished well. Erma stepped through the gates of Heaven on Monday, April 18, 2011, and will forever be in the presence of our loving Savior. She was a lifelong native of McMinn County, and was loved by so many.

She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Cindy and Terry Cross of Cleveland, Linda and Stacy Parker of Pikeville, and Patty and Dennis Gaines of Athens; her grandchildren, Jordan Gaines, Katie Parker and Bryson Parker; her sisters and their spouses, Cherie and James Conner of Etowah, Carol and Bill Waldrop of Cleveland, and Margaret and Ted Crawford, of Gainesville, Georgia. She also leaves behind her sweet Heather Boles of Cleveland whom she loved as if she were her own; as well as the many children she cared for throughout her life; her special nieces and nephews, and her cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Ray Singletary, her infant daughter, Nellie Singletary, and her precious grandson, Zach Gaines.

The family will receive friends at Bordwine Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow, with Pastors Paul Davis and Kevin Mendel officiating.
