Ethel "Boots" Kennedy, 75, of Athens, passed away, Friday, August 24, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center. She was raised in Etowah, had lived in Chattanooga for over 30 years and moved to Athens in 1988, was a daughter of the late David and Samantha Abbott Best, and a graduate of McKenzie Business College with a degree in accounting. She worked as a buyer for various retail establishments, Miller Brothers, Lovemans and Proffitts and had retired from Athens Products. She loved sewing and spending time with her pets. She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; sister and brother-in-law, G.F. and Juanita Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Margaret Ann Best; brother, Floyd Best; brothers-in-law ,Ralph Moreland and Ted Mendenhall; one a nephew by marriage, Jeff Johnson.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Jim Rollins of Athens, TN; grandchildren, Samantha and A.J. Jackson and Clair and Jake Rollins; and two sisters, Marie Moreland of Etowah, TN and Bonnie Mendenhall of Athens, TN. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at McMinn Memory Gardens .No formal visitation will be held.
