Eva Mae Phillips, 81, of Etowah, passed away, Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Life Care Center of Athens. A native of Erwin, TN and a resident of Etowah for the past 46 years she was a daughter of the late Grace "Nannie" Jones, who died in 2009. She was active in the industrial garment industry for many years, a member of First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her mother, listed above. Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Dale Phillips; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Buddy Williams; one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Theresa Phillips; one granddaughter and spouse, Tiffany Williams and husband Roger; three grandsons and spouse, Darin Edwards and wife Jill, Sterling Phillips, and Lukas Phillips; two great-grandchildren, Dillan Edwards and Jacey Edwards; special friend and caregiver, Diane Johnson. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Etowah with Dr. Carlos Peterson and Rev. Carlton Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at McMinn Memory Gardens at 2 p.m. Friday, February 19th for the committal service. Sterling Phillips, Lukas Phillips, Darin Edwards, Dillan Edward, Jeffery Bailey, Buddy Williams and Roger Williams will serve as pallbearers. Family suggest memorial contributions be made to Fist Baptist Church of Etowah Kitchen Fund, or the First Baptist Church of Englewood Youth.
