Obituary

Eva Jean Stone, 90, of Etowah, TN passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Eva Jean was one of the oldest members of North Etowah Baptist Church, as well as a loving and devoted mother, nana, and great nana. For 30 years she served as the fulltime secretary of North Etowah Baptist Church. Eva Jean was dedicated to her church family serving as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. In her spare time, she would visit friends and family in the surrounding hospitals and nursing homes. She was a member of the EHS "Piledrivers" alumni association as well as several other associations. Eva Jean was also an avid Tennessee Vols fan.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert "Tub" Stone; parents, Andy and Annie Watson; sister, Dixie Crocket; daughter-in-law, Margaret "Midge" Stone; mother and father-in-law, Owen and Ethel Stone; brothers-in-law, M.L. Stone, Rueben Stone, Parnick Stone, Kenneth Stone, Roy Stone and Jarvis Stone; sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Studdard and Ruth Loftis; brothers-in-law, Gene White, Steve Goodner.

Survivors include one son, Mark Stone and fiancé, Linda McInturff; grandchildren and spouses, Travis and Kristen, Trevor and Bailey Stone, Landin McInturff "Turff", Hunter and Dana Peterson, Zach McInturff; great-granddaughter, Millie Jean Stone; sisters, Wanda White, Celia Goodner; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Hazel Stone; sister-in-law, Mary Stone; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dr. Gerald Atkins officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Bordwine Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 15th and go in procession to Green Hill Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.

Trevor Stone, Travis Stone, Landin McInturff, Jesse Holden, Hunter Peterson and Dakota Stone will serve as pallbearers.

Chris Stone, Ronald Cearley, Gene Choate, Bill White, Danny Breashears, David White, Ray Stone, Zach McInturff, Darren Stone and Rex Stone will serve as honorary pallbearers.
