Obituary

Evelyn Edythe Daugherty, 64, of Englewood and formerly Carrollton, GA, passed away Monday, May 23 at her home surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer.  She was born March 7, 1958 to parents Derrill and Edy Maxwell in Hastings, Nebraska.  Evelyn graduated from Carrollton High School in 1976 and attended West Georgia College.  She married the love of her life on July 5, 1985. She became an instant first time Mom to two young daughters and never looked back.

Evelyn was the rock of her family, the glue that always held things together during hard times.  Her family was the absolute most important thing to her and was always the center of her life.  Evelyn was an employee of the United States Post Office, but her favorite job was that of being Mamaw Evelyn, and each grandkid will say she was the absolute best! She never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by two sons, John Michael and Steven Glenn Daugherty; father, Derrill M. Maxwell; grandparents, Wes and Ester Laughlin, Larry and Alma Quincy, and Medford and Clarisse Maxwell.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn C. Daugherty; daughters, Angie (Terry) Chandler, Jennifer (Amanda) Rogers; son, Aaron (Brittany) Daugherty; grandchildren, Lauren and Carson Black, Miami Chandler, Braden and Leah Daugherty, Cristian, Bayleigh, JD and Edi Daugherty and Bryson Davis; mother, Edy Maxwell; brothers, Mark (Chyleen) Maxwell and Mike (Perry) Maxwell; aunt, Patty (Mickey) Dorsett and several cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2022 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Minister Jeff Archey officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 27 th at the funeral home and proceed to Liberty Hill Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.

Carson Black, Terry Chandler, Greg Sheppard, Mike Raby, Eric Rogers and Luke Stiles will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Braden Daugherty.
