Evelyn Taylor Runion, 80, of Athens, TN a beloved mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, May 11, 2026. Born on May 22, 1945, in Coker Creek, Tennessee.

Evelyn was known as a classy lady with impeccable style, whose presence brightened every room she entered. A passionate aficionado of antiques, she collected and sold treasured pieces that spoke to her refined taste and appreciation for history. Evelyn's love for music was profound; she sang and danced joyfully, captivating those around her with what many described as the voice of an angel. Her green thumb was evident in the lush, lovingly tended flower beds that she nurtured, creating vibrant displays of natural beauty that reflected her nurturing spirit.

Family stood at the center of Evelyn’s life. She took immense pride in her loved ones and devoted herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and success, always offering kindness and steadfast support in every endeavor. Her legacy is carried forward by her children: Nina Martin, Elizabeth Raby, Marsha Runion Cook, and Lester Raby and his wife Susan. Evelyn was equally cherished by her grandchildren: Brandon Raby; Savannah Standridge and her husband Aaron; Christina Morgan and her husband William; Sam Raby and his wife Carol; Joy West and her husband Patrick Cochran; Maranda Gross and her husband Jake; Hannah Cook; and Blake Cook. The love she sowed continues into the next generations with great-grandchildren Christopher Morgan and his spouse Kylie; William Morgan and his spouse Kameryn; James Morgan; Jackson Zapata; Dawson Gross; and Averly West. Evelyn was also supported and surrounded by several siblings, nieces, and nephews who were fortunate to share in her kindness and wisdom throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Chris Runion; her parents, Lester and Amelia Taylor; and several siblings, whose memories remain deeply treasured by her surviving family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2026, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with her great-grandson Rev. Christopher Morgan officiating.
