Floyd Curtis Aly, 85, of Etowah, died early Tuesday morning, March 9, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center. A native of Etowah, he was a son of the late Joseph Benjamin and Kittie Lucinda Vaughn Aly. He was a member of Conasauga Baptist Church and was retired from Athens Furniture Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Mae Murray Aly; two sons, Robert Ben Aly, and an infant son; sisters, Marie Aly Williams, Mamie Aly Casey, Sue Aly Gordon, Anna Ruth Aly Dillard, and Callie Mae Aly; and brothers, James Ray Aly and John Robert Aly. Survivors include 5 sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Harold Aly and Margaret Oliver, Steve Allen and Millie Aly, Michael Wayne and Martha Aly, Jacky Glenn and Deborah Aly, and Russell Floyd and Melora Aly; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Aly, Tim Aly, Nathan Aly, Benjamin Aly, Machelle McCulley, Chris Melton, Matthew Aly, Sara Beth Aly, Joshua Aly, Sarah Wilton, and Gavin Aly; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Best and Pastor Pat McCulley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
Family and friends will assemble at Conasauga Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14th for the committal service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
