Obituary

Floyd E. Peterson, 88, of Etowah, died Friday, October 15, 2010 at his residence.

A native of Maryville and resident of Etowah for 48 years, he was a son of the late J. Franklin and Mamie Bolinger Peterson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during World War II, and was a retired conductor with CSX Railroad. He was a member of Delano Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Houser and Gladys Latham.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Rouse Peterson of Etowah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Evelyn Peterson of Etowah, and Brad and Jennifer Peterson of Benton; one daughter, Robin Peterson of Etowah; six grandchildren, Dylan Peterson, Hunter Peterson, Matthew McNutt, Rusty Peterson, Craig Peterson and Ken Peterson; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, October 17th for the 2 p.m. graveside service. Speaker Dennis Bordwine will officiate. Ken Peterson, Craig Peterson, Rusty Peterson, Matt McNutt, Hunter Peterson and Dylan Peterson will serve as pallbearers.

There will be no formal visitation held.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah in charge of arrangements.
