Obituary

Frank Waldrop, 81 of Claxton Community, peacefully departed this life on Friday, August 4, 2017. He was surrounded by his loved ones and was escorted into heaven as his loving grandchildren sang some of his favorite gospel hymns.

Frank was a Christian and was happy at anytime to tell you of the reason of his faith. He was an active member of Cane Creek Baptist where he taught adult Sunday school for many years. Even though he was battling Parkinson's disease He was faithful in attendance thanks to his loving wife, Ann who helped him with his mobility issues. Frank loved his Lord, loved his family, and was a good friend and neighbor to all who were fortunate enough to know him. God blessed Frank with a great sense of humor, a beautiful smile that lit up his eyes, and the uncanny ability to fix or create anything. He was a devoted family man who will be missed until we see him again!

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Georgie Belle Waldrop; sister and her husband, Margaret and Ronnie Wampler; brother and his wife, Willard and Wilma Waldrop; mother and father-in-law, Glenn and Vennie Martin; grandparents Joe and Elsie Crabtree, Riley and Ellar Waldrop. He was also preceded by his infant sister, Georgie Elsie; twin sons, Lynn and Glenn; and great-grandson, Ethin Waldrop, whom he will be able to meet and talk to for the first time.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Martin Waldrop; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Tamera Waldrop; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Chris Taylor all of Etowah; siblings and spouses: Katherine Willis, Mary Ellen and Bob Shugart, Charlcia and Robert Baker, and Leonard Waldrop all of Claxton and Janie and Wilton Richesin of Philadelphia, TN; sisters-in-law and spouses: Faye Martin Crabtree and Roy of Etowah, Joyce Martin McLemore and Carl of Madisonville; grandchildren: Erick, Katlyn, Kaleb, and Karan Waldrop; Aaron and Lavinnia Taylor and Hannah Taylor Umphrey and spouse Brandon; great-grandson: Frank Edward Waldrop, Benjamin Wayne Edwards; and many close friends and family.
