Franklin Dewayne Crittenden, 77, of Cleveland, died Thursday morning, April 8, 2010 at Bradley Health Care in Cleveland. A son of the late Clifford and Virgie Walker Crittenden, he was a native of Etowah, a resident there during his early years, and resident of Bradley County for most of his life. He was retired from Maytag, and was a veteran of the US Army, serving four years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Oletha Crittenden; one brother, Marvin Crittenden; and one sister, Geneva Davis. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and David Overly of Cleveland; four granddaughters, Chastity Cass of Cartersville, Ga., Savannah Cass of Cleveland, and Crystal and Alexis Overly, both of Cleveland; two brothers-in-law and spouse, Warren Davis of Etowah, and Gene and Auretis Hawkins of Cleveland; one sister-in-law, Velma Crittenden of Chattanooga; and three nieces, Dianne Brown, Sandra Baggett, and Cathy Miller.
Funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, April 10, 2010, in the South Chapel with the Rev. Beecher White officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 noon prior to the service. Burial will follow at Goodsprings Cemetery.
