Franklin Delano Farner, 89, a longtime resident of McMinn County, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 surrounded by his family.
Frank loved farming and was a longtime owner of a local construction business.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Isaac and Della Mae Farner; siblings, Lucille McAllister, Clarence "Bud" Farner, Geneva Underdown, Elizabeth Dixon, Kenneth Farner, Glenn Farner and Harold Dean Farner.
Frank dearly loved his wife of 66 years, 67 years on December 23rd, Helen. He was a caring and loving father to both his daughter, Linda Elrod and son, John Farner, as well as the best father-in-law to Jeff Elrod and Angel Farner.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian Elrod and wife, Chelsea, Morgan Farner, Blake Elrod and wife, Danielle, Will Farner, Christopher Farner and Joshua Farner, Christian Spears, Nathan Spears and wife, Jen; great-grandchildren, Cooper Newman, Brynleigh Elrod, Eamon Spears, Liam Spears, Remington Spears; sisters, Zelphina Dipierro and Nancy Henry; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Wesleyanna Methodist Church with Pastor Burt Beria, Pastor Brad Brown and son, John Farner officiating. Wesleyanna Methodist Church, 649 County Road 609, Athens, TN.
Interment to follow the service in Wesleyanna Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
