Fred Lee Yoder Sr, age 87 of Etowah, TN passed away Tuesday, September 22nd at his residence. Fred was a lifelong resident of McMinn County. He enjoyed spending time farming and served in the U.S. Navy. He was the son of the late James William and Mamie Katherine Armstrong Yoder. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, listed above; wife, Velma Inez Dillard Yoder; and brother Kenneth Yoder.

Survivors include daughter, Patricia Anita Yoder; sons and daughters-in-law, Fred Jr. and Sheila Yoder, James and Dora Yoder of Knoxville, David and Wanda Yoder; Grandchildren Samuel Allen Yoder, Fred Lee Yoder III, Adam and Lisa Yoder of Knoxville, George and Stephanie Yoder, Jason and Misty Yoder Murphy of Knoxville, Christy Leann Yoder, Tabitha Yoder of Knoxville; Great Grandchildren, Joshua and Kayla Yoder, Kayla Diane Hicks, Jacob Lee Yoder, Fred Lee Yoder IV, Reagan Yoder, Macie Johnson, Dakota Yoder of Knoxville; Sister, Nina Yoder Tucker; Special Friend Faye Wheless; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 25th 2015 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Wade officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26th, 2015 and proceed to Prospect Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m. committal service. Allen Yoder, Lee Yoder, George Yoder, Joshua Yoder, Jacob Yoder, Dakota Yoder and Fred L. Yoder IV will serve as pallbearers.
