Fronia Rue Samples, 83, of Jacksboro, and formerly of Etowah, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at St. Mary's Rehab Center in LaFollette.
Born June 14, 1927, she was a native of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late Coy and Rose Rue. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Samples; three children, Dan Samples, Sandy Samples and Sharon Blair; her stepmother, Jean Rue; one brother, Leon Rue; one sister, Elizabeth Parris; and one stepbrother, Marcus Rue. Survivors include six children, Eddie Samples, Jerry Samples, Gary Wayne Samples and Sammy Samples, all of Kingston, Debbie Wilson of Jacksboro, and Ronnie Samples of Etowah; two brothers, Larry and Michael Rue, both of Kingston; 22 grandchildren; and a special friend, Diane Slack. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McMinn Memory Gardens with her son, Gary Wayne Samples, officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
