Gary L. Carroll, 71,of Athens, TN, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Life Care Center of Athens. He was the son of the late Virgil and Clemmie Carroll and he was an independent insurance agent for many years including Liberty National Life. Preceded in death by 2 sisters, Juanita Carroll Russo and Stellita Carroll Stewart; 1 brother, Ron Carroll Sr.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Paulette Bryan; children and spouses, Vic and Melanie Carroll of Summerville, SC Vanessa and Steve Perry of Rincon, GA and Tracie and John H. Tomlinson of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Dustin Carroll, Victoria Winkle, Tyler Perry, Alexa Carroll and Cameron Carroll; 1 great-grandchild, Jonah Carroll; brothers and sister-in-law, David and Wanda Carroll of Roswell, GA and TJ Carroll of Etowah, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Burna Dene and Bill Clark of Etowah, TN.

Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Victor Carroll and Pastor Ron Carroll Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 and proceed to Etowah Cemetery for the 10:00 a.m., committal service.
