Obituary

Gene Gouge of Cleveland, TN went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the age of 80 years old.

He was born and raised in a small area outside of Etowah known as Coghill and lived in Etowah most of his life. Gene was the owner of Gene's TV and appliance repair for 60 years.  He pastored within The Church of God of Prophecy for 50 years where he led many people to the Lord.  Gene loved the ministry and was a humble servant.

Gene was a conductor for the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum for 15 years.  He loved trains especially steam engines.  He was a ham radio operator excellent at morse code.  Gene enjoyed history, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family which he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, T.O. and Grovetta Gouge along with several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife, Donna Gouge; children, Larry Eugene "Bootsie"  Gouge, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Etowah, TN; Renee Gouge Chambers and husband, Jay, of Harrison, TN; Regina Gouge Linn and husband, David, of Knoxville, TN; Charity L. Julian of Cleveland, TN; Leslie K. Benson of New Port Richey, FL; mother of his three children, Joyce Cassada and husband, Stan; grandchildren, Casey Dyer and husband, Will, Bradley Smith, Chelsea Smith, Joni Ryan and husband, Catlin, Cassie Roberts, Cade Gouge, Jordan Robison, Courtney Robison; great-grandchildren, Micah Dyer, Maddox Dyer, Breah Smith, Kahli Ryan, Blakley Ryan, Major Harrison, Brantley Coleman, Mack Coleman; sister, Vivian Magyer of Clearwater, FL; sisters-in-law, Teresa Weaver and husband, Steve, of Chattanooga, TN, Michelle Phillips and husband, Matthew, of Chickamauga, GA; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to hearth hospice of Chattanooga, TN for the care and kindness they gave Gene, especially his nurse, Kaylie.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Church of God of Prophecy of Madisonville.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2025 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Church of God of Prophecy in Madisonville, TN.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Cade Gouge, Will Dyer, Jordan Robison, Catlin Ryan, Julian Chambers, and Jimmy Long will serve as pallbearers.

Last but not least, "GO VOLS!"
