Geneva B. Harris, 89, of Etowah passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at NHC Healthcare of Athens. She was a native of McMinn County, and daughter of the late John and Ida Blanton. Geneva was a member of North Etowah Baptist Church for over 60 years and she worked as a seamstress most of her life. She and her husband loved traveling and going on bus tours across the country. She especially loved her church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Spencer Harris.

Survivors include her son, Donald Harris of Hixson, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and John Cate of Maryville, TN; grandchildren and spouses, Donna Roberson of Hixson, TN, Annissa and David Wagner of Signal Mountain, TN, Wes and Melissa Cate of Knoxville, TN, and Lori Cate of Knoxville, TN; great-grandchildren, John Roberson and wife Mandi, Jake Wagner, Spencer Wagner and Jonathan Cate; great-great-grandchild Caden Roberson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Wade officiating.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 14th at the funeral home and proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 11:00 a.m. committal service. .

The family would like to thank the staff at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens, NHC and the many special friends that visited during her illnesses.
