Genevieve Clabo, 92, originally from the Claxton community, died peacefully in her sleep May 2, 2018.

She was a native of McMinn County; a resident of Virginia Beach, VA, for 32 years; McMinn County, TN for 26 years, and Cleveland, TN since 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Fred Clabo; sons Alvin Clabo and Rodney Clabo; her parents, Bruner and Nola Akins; brothers, Mason Akins and Kenneth Akins.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Margo Clabo, (Cleveland, TN), four grandsons, Richard Clabo (Narberth, PA), Howard Clabo (Los Gatos, CA), Jason Clabo (Daphne, AL) and Joshua Clabo (Atlanta, GA); six great-grandchildren; sister Maggie Crabtree; brothers Thurman Akins, Ed Akins and Gary Akins, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 at Bordwine Funeral Home in Etowah, on Thursday, May 3, and respectfully request in lieu of flowers that donations please be made to your favorite church or charity or send a donation to Brookdale of Cleveland, (her home for the last 14 years) 2745 Executive Park NW, Cleveland, TN 37312 with a notation that it is in memory of Genevieve Clabo.
