Gennis Ray "Scoot" Belcher, aged 79, of Englewood, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, March 23, 2026. Born on April 22, 1946, Mr. Belcher was a lifelong resident of Englewood. 

A 1964 graduate of Englewood High School, "Scoot" devoted much of his life to his profession, retiring after an impressive 42 years of dedicated service at Olin Chemical Corporation. 

He was a member of the Englewood First Baptist Church. 

"Scoot" is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Patricia Peels Belcher; his son Heath and daughter-in-law Monica Belcher; his daughter Heather and son-in-law Randy Sellers; as well as five cherished grandchildren: Haylee and her spouse, Taylor Trew, Ethan Belcher, Tyler Walker, Reese Belcher, and Trent Walker. Their presence was a great joy to him and a testament to the loving family he nurtured.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Belcher, and his brothers Glenn, George, and James Gayle "Spec" Belcher.

Per his request no formal visitation will be held. 

Family and friends will assemble at McMinn Memory Gardens on Friday, March 27, 2026, for the 2:00 PM graveside service, with Pastor Russ Maples officiating.
