Glenn E. Jenkins, 76, of Etowah, passed away, Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his residence.A native and lifelong resident of Etowah, he was retired from Western Electric, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard and he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. A son of the late Wesley and Myrtle Jenkins, he was preceded in death by his parents, listed above and one brother, Gene Jenkins.Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Judy Jenkins of Etowah, TN; 2 daughters, Kim Sims of Maryville, TN and Tammy Swilley of Riceville, TN; 2 sons, Marty Jenkins and Shane Jenkins both of Etowah, TN; 7 grandchildren, Ashley Adams, Kari Sims, Dylan Swilley and Abby Swilley, and Michala, Devin, and Lauren Jenkins; 1 great-grandchild, Kyler Grace Adams; 4 brothers, Albert, Larry, Robert, and Danny Jenkins; and 3 sisters, Joyce Lanning, Dianne Lanning and Kathy Mincey. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Vest officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home, at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 21st and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m., committal service with military honors. The family will serve as pallbearers.
