Harvey Kenneth Hensley, 84, of Etowah, TN passed away peacefully at his home Monday, August 22, 2022.
He was born March 5, 1938 in Chatsworth, Georgia to Edith Inez Quarles and Estill Moss Hensley. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army (Korea 1957-59)
Harvey was well known for his great sense of humor. He captivated his audiences with his great (true) story telling abilities. He was almost always seen wearing one of his Australian hats, especially the one that was sent to him by Steve Irwin "that was his story."
Preceded in death by one brother, Charles Hensley; two sisters, Carolyn Austin and Kathy Bramlett.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Jeannie Coburn (Jean) Hensley; two sons, HK Hensley of Etowah, and Ed Hensley of Villa Rica, Georgia; one daughter, Rena' Hensley of Etowah. Brother, Robert "Bob" Hensley of Etowah and Dale Hensley of Dallas, Georgia; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 24 th in Green Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.
No formal visitation will be held.
