Harvey Tallent, Jr. 88, native and lifelong resident of Etowah, TN passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Etowah Health Care Center. He was a son of the late William Harvey, Sr. and Maggie Tallent. He served in the US Coast Guard and retired from the Etowah Dry Cleaners and was a member of First Baptist Church of Etowah.

Preceded in death by his brothers, Burkett, Athel, Ray, Rankin and Virgil Tallent; 2 sisters, Ethel Fain and Dorothy Lance; nephews, Dale and Robert Tallent.

Harvey loved gospel music and his church.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Geneva Tallent of Etowah; nephews and nieces, Arnold Tallent, Beecher Tallent, Daniel Tallent, Marie Anderson, Linda Williams, Jerry Fain, Venita Davis, Edith Coleman, Gloria Trew, Barbara Houchins, Mary Alice Huff, Jane Hicks, Nola Ann DeWitt, Richard Tallent and Ray Lance; special friends, Hoyt and Dean Roberson.

Funeral Service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2016 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Minister Richard Tallent officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Etowah Cemetery Sunday, October 9, 2016 for a 2:00 p.m., committal service
