Hazel Snyder Shugart, age 81 of Etowah, TN passed away May 19, 2017 from an unexpected brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Shugart; parents Hermann Paul and Beulah Davis Snyder; and brother, Paul (Ducie) Snyder.

Survivors include son, John Shugart; daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Terry Simbeck and Patti Carter; grandchildren, Jordan Simbeck, Cory and Kristen Shugart, Patrick Shugart, and Dexter Carter; sisters, Helen Ralston of Morganton, GA and Charlotte Raper of Mineral Bluff, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 21, 2017 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bernard officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow service to Green Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family would like to make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50 Memphis, TN 38101.
