Helen Elizabeth Thompson, 89, of Etowah, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Life Care Center of Athens. She was a resident of Etowah and a native of McMinn County. Helen was the daughter of the late William and Edna Rule Flannigan. She is preceded in death by her husband H. Glenn Thompson; her parents listed above; and son-in-law Ed Johnson.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Johnson and Mary Lynn Thompson both of Athens, TN, son and daughter-in-law; Scott and Angie Thompson of Athens, TN, grandchildren, Jill and Roger Davis of Athens, TN, Jamie and Rhonda Johnson of Athens, TN, Chris and Catherine Keith of Alpharetta, GA, Jessie Thompson of Athens, TN and Natalie Thompson of Athens, TN, great-grandchildren; Jolie and Jenna Johnson of Athens, TN, Carter Keith of Alpharetta, GA, Gabriel and Noah Davis of Athens, TN, sister and spouse; Diane and Carl Price of Signal Mtn., TN.

Family and friends will assemble Monday, March 17, 2014 at Green Hill Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m., graveside service. Dr. John E. Pennington Jr. will officiate. No formal visitation will be held.
