Obituary

Henrietta Willis Johnson, age 81, of Englewood, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at her family’s home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Henrietta was known as “Hen,” “Mom,” and her favorite title, “Nana.” She spent her whole life taking the best care of anyone who would let her, especially her loved ones. She stopped at nothing to make sure that, before anyone left a conversation with her, they knew about her love for Jesus and how she desired for them to know that love as well. During her brief battle with cancer, doctors and nurses commented that they had never seen a faith so strong. Church was her favorite outing and the highlight of her week. She loved her Notchey Creek Baptist Church (Madisonville) family fiercely, and that love was reciprocated. She took notes during sermons that rivaled those of the most studious scholars, and her words are the dearest gift she left with her family. She loved Thursday date nights each week with her son, Chris, and “daughter-in-love,” Kendra. She enjoyed any outing with her granddaughters and would always say her favorite hobby was “making memories.” She never missed an opportunity to show her family and friends her unwavering love and support.

She is preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life for over 60 years, Alvin Johnson; her son, Jeff Johnson; and her grandson, Seth Johnson.

She is survived by her loving son, Chris (Kendra) Johnson; granddaughters, Madison (Kyle) Limburg and Olivia (Kaid) Black; brothers Warner and Leonard Willis; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2026 at Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Johnston officiating and music by Kyle and Madi Limburg.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 2nd at the funeral home and will go in procession to Sunrise Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service officiated by Dr. Shane Johnston.

Serving as pallbearers are Tony Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Tracy Johnson, Allen Johnson, Tony Brown, Tim Willis, Kyle Limburg, Kaid Black, and Cooper Goforth.

Thank you to all the staff at UT Medical Center, and Stephanie Wilson and her team with Hospice of Chattanooga for their loving care.
