Herman B. Fox, 80, of Etowah passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens.
He was a native of Polk County and was a son of the late Bowden and Thelma Norwood Fox. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a retired Union Laborer and Auto Mechanic. Proceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Fox Culpepper and Sandra Fox; and 1 brother, Billy Fox.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bettie Bradford Fox of Etowah; daughters and sons-in-law, Anita Bain of Etowah, Karen Fox of Delano, Elizabeth and Ted Rainwater of Delano, Cheryle and Ray Cooper, Jennifer and Rick Heath of Etowah; 1 son, Herman Fox Jr. of Englewood; grandchildren, Cain Allen, Jeremy Allen, Jessica Fox, Zack Fox, Nicholas Fox, Jake Heath, Emily Heath, Lucas Bain, Erica Bain, Melissa Cooper, Trey Cooper, Shauna Sneed, Josh and Johnathan Cooper, Caleb Rainwater, Christy Collins, Justin and Travis Winters; great-grandchildren, Gabe Leeper, Iziah Burton, Skyler Allen, Kayden Fox, Neely, Delaney and Kirby Collins, Hannah, Cameron and Madison Winters, Seth, Hannah and Trenton Jones and River Cooper; brothers and sister-in-law, Glen and Lavern Fox, Bobby Fox and Jimmy Fox; sister and brother-in-law, May Ruth and David Powell.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Interment will follow service in Green Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home in the North Chapel, Friday, January 31st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
