Horace Lynn Coltharp, 77 of Englewood, TN passed away at his residence Sunday, August 17, 2014. He was the first born of George Horace and Amanda Beatrice Maxwell Coltharp and a native of Monroe County. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter Robert "Bob" Coltharp and George Howard "Butch" Coltharp Sr.
Lynn retired from the Etowah Housing Authority after serving 33 years; and was a member of North Etowah Baptist Church. He had a love and passion for his mules and going on wagon trains.
Survivors include his wife, Marianne Wall Coltharp of Englewood; daughter and son-in-law, Karen Ann and Jerry McGinnis of Fort Mill, SC; step-daughter and husband, Annette Malone Weaver and Stanley Weaver of Clinton, TN; brother and sister-in-law, John Douglas Sr. and Brenda Coltharp of Oxford, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Grace Coltharp Toomey and Charles Toomey Madisonville, TN; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Linda Coltharp of Fayetteville, NC and Mrs. Lee Coltharp of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Allison and Cole McGinnis; step-grandchildren, Ian Weaver and fiancé Jessica McClure, Hannah Weaver Miller and husband William Miller; and great-granddaughter, Hailey Weaver; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dr. Robert J. Burns and Dennis Bordwine officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at St. Mary's Cemetery, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 for the 11:00 a.m., committal service.
