Horton Marshall Plumlee, 79, of Etowah, passed away Monday morning, March 10, 2014 at his daughter, Robin Stewart's residence. A native of Etowah and resident for most of his life, he was the son of the late Ray and Ella Plumlee. Preceded in death by his wife, Jane Plumlee; brother, George Plumlee; 2 sisters, Edith Wolfe and Wanda Derrick.
Survivors include 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Robert Mills of Etowah, Robin Stewart of Etowah, Holly and Tom Mills of Etowah; 4 grandchildren, Braden and Austin Stewart, Silver and Garrett Mills; sister-in-law, Jane Plumlee; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in the South Chapel, of Bordwine Funeral home with Dr. Doug Plumlee and Bro. Mark Wade officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday and proceed to Goodsprings Cemetery for 11:00 a.m., committal service.
Braden Stewart, Austin Stewart, Tal Plumlee, Bryant Plumlee, Steve Plumlee and Garret Plumlee will serve as active pallbearers. Dan Rayburn, Rual Watson, Glenn Sisson, Dale West, Fred Harrison, E.M. Armstrong and Bill Ferguson, will serve as honorary pallbearers.
