Hugh Alvin Johnson, Jr. age 79, lifelong citizen of Englewood, Tennessee passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023 at the Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga after a brief illness.

He was known best as Alvin or "Junior" around the town of Englewood. He retired from the National Linen Service and then went on to own and manage his rental properties.

He was the son of the late Hugh Alvin Johnson Sr. and Beulah Johnson. Alvin had three siblings, Faye (Julian) Connell, Johnny (Joyce) Johnson Sr., Ray (Linda) Johnson.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 61 years, Henrietta Willis Johnson; his son, Chris (Kendra) Johnson; granddaughters, Madison Johnson (Kyle) Limburg, and Olivia Johnson (Kaid) Black; and daughter-in-law, Anita Johnson; brother, Ray (Linda) Johnson; brothers-in-law, Leonard and Warner Willis; and many special and loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Faye Connell and Johnny Johnson; son, Jeff Johnson; and grandson Seth Johnson.

Alvin is known for being a good Christian man and an example of a Christian leader in the home, church, and community. He is a member of Notchey Creek Baptist Church in Madisonville. He seldom missed listening to the sermons on Sunday and he loved his church family.  He enjoyed cheering for the Vols with his son Chris each Saturday. He also enjoyed traveling, car shows, attending events of his grandchildren, and taking a ride with Henrietta in his truck. He was a Mason.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Johnston officiating and music by Kyle and Madi Limburg.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00, Thursday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 10 ^th at the funeral home and will go in procession to Sunrise Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service officiated by Rev. Gale Miller.

Serving as pallbearers are Tony Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Tracy Johnson, Allen Johnson, Tony Brown, Tim Willis, Kyle Limburg, and Kaid Black
