Iola "Nanny" Goodman of Etowah passed away peacefully thru the gates of glory on January 14, 2017 at Starr Regional Nursing Home and Rehab Center with her family at her side. She is a native of Barberton, Ohio and has been a resident of Etowah for 39 years. Iola is the daughter of the late Samuel and Dorothy Mitchell. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Albert Goodman; son, Daniel Goodman; brother, Carl Mitchell; and sisters, Sue Mitchell, Faith Mace, and Marjorie Allan.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Geary and Dianne Goodman of Monroe, Michigan; daughter, Marla Martin of Etowah with whom she shared her home; cherished grandchildren, Jeremiah and Tonya Hamilton of Tellico Plains, Brett Goodman of Monroe, Michigan, Lacey Hamilton and boyfriend Adam Powell of Etowah, and Lydia Goodman of Monroe, Michigan; and one great-grandson, TJ Hamilton of Tellico Plains; brother, Richard and Linda Mitchell of Florida; sisters, Lois Lucore and Mary Anne and George Francisco of Akron, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2017 at Mars Hill Cemetery with Bro. Kip Stiles officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
