Irene Shadden Webb of 1230 Washington Avenue, Etowah died on April 3, 2018 at NHC healthcare. A native of McMinn county all of her life she was born December 22, 1920 to the late Rev. Hoyt Shadden and Florence Toomey Shadden. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Etowah where she served as office assistant for twenty years; and was a member of the Sanctuary Choir for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Webb; parents, listed above; two sisters, Reva Culberson of Etowah and Veneta Kirksey of Bristol, TN; one brother John L. Shadden of Chickamauga, Georgia.
Survivors include one son, Frank Shadden Webb and daughter-in-law Virginia Morelan Webb of Etowah; two granddaughters and grand-son-in-laws, Nikki and Joe Conner of Etowah, Tricia and Scott Underwood of Athens; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Felker, Braden Underwood, Sydney Conner and David Seaton, Morelan Underwood; great-great-grandchildren Amelia and Anson Felker; one sister-in-law, Ruby Shadden; one niece, Debbie Freeman, three nephews, John Shadden, Dr. James W. Kirksey, Larry Kirksey; great nieces and nephews, Molly Jordan and Catie Shadden, John Reed Freeman, Nicholas Shadden; and several cousins.
A graveside service will be held at Green Hill Cemetery on Sunday, April 8 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. John E. Pennington Jr. officiating.
