Iva Pearl Kirksey, 87, of Englewood, died late Thursday night, June 10, 2010 at her home. A native of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Will and Nancy Watson. She was a member of Englewood Christian Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen Kirksey; and four siblings, Ester Carpenter, Charlie Watson, Elsie Stakley, and Frances Saffles. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Judy Kirksey of Englewood; one daughter, Diane Higgins of Englewood; grandchildren and spouses, Marty and Shari High, Mike and Marla Kirksey, Angie Higgins Croft, and Tracy and Susan Kirksey; great-grandchildren, Matt, Alex, Aaron and Nicki Kirksey; Brooke High; Kirksey Croft; and Alyssa Kirksey; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 in the South Chapel with Minister David Caffee and Minister Ron Blevins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 13th and proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 2 p.m. committal service. Tracy Kirksey, Mike Kirksey, Marty High, Brooke High, Matt Kirksey and Alex Kirksey will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Thomas, Nicki Kirksey and Aaron Kirksey.
