Ivan Roberts, a loving husband and father, 81, of Englewood, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. A son of the late Lewis and Nellie Roberts, he was born in Monroe County but lived in Englewood most of his life. He was retired from Athens Table Company and was a founding member of the Nonaburg House of Prayer, where he remained faithful until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tony Roberts; one grandson, Jeremy Roberts; three brothers, Wilburn, Howard and J.B. Roberts; and one sister, Ida Mae Holcomb. He loved the simple things in life - sitting in the sunshine on a warm sunny day, with a sharp knife and good piece of cedar to whittle.Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Annette Roberts of Englewood; two daughters and one son-in-law, Pam Roberts of Englewood and Linda and Chris Buckland of Johnson City; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Roberts of Englewood; one brother, L.C. Roberts of Tellico Plains; two sisters, Catherine Evans of Tellico Plains and Margie Evans of Athens; five granddaughters, Gillian Roberts of Englewood, Chrisada Buckland of Johnson City, Tonyia Roberts, Annie Masengil and Callie Hashe Roberts, all of Englewood; five great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Whittney Buff, Ethan Masengil, Lanie Masengil and Emilie Roberts, all of Englewood; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Sunday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Simpson officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Monday and proceed to Burger Cemetery for the 11 a.m. committal service. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Bobby Croft, Dale Holbrook, Mike Raper, Dewayne Lee, Kenneth Baxter and Tim Moses. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Roberts, Mitch Roberts and Bud Bearfield.
