Ivins A. Martin, age 93 of Englewood, passed away at Etowah Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness. A life-long resident of Englewood, he was a charter member of the Englewood Church of God. He served a total of 28 years with the Englewood Police Department. Several of those years as Chief of Police.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of more than 69 years, Nora Hampton Martin, 2 daughters, 1 son, 7 brothers, and 2 sisters.

He is survived by 1 daughter, Virginia I. Duggan; 3 grandsons, Charles Thurman, Terry Thurman, and Dustin Duggan; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 1, 2017 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Cardin officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 2, 2017 at the funeral home and proceed to Mars Hill Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
