James Daniel Burger, 62, of Etowah, TN passed away Friday, February 2, 2024, after a long-term battle with degenerative disease.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Lillian Deloris Campbell and Wanda Joyce Simmons.

James Daniel "Danny" was born June 15,1961, to James Henderson and Mary Ruth Onbey Burger in Athens, TN. After graduating North Cobb High School in Kennesaw GA, in 1979, Danny began his 18 year career at the Steel Mill in Cartersville, GA, until it's closing.

Danny enjoyed restoring old vehicles, winning awards for the best vehicle paint jobs. He was on a power lifting team, as well as participated in several marathons. Danny loved boating and fishing in his spare time.

He is survived by his sister, Glenda Burger Parker of Sweetwater.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday February 10, 2024, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Ellis officiating.

Friends are invited to join the family for a time of gathering and remembrance from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m., prior to the service.
