James E. Davis of Etowah, TN age 76. He was called to his eternal home on January 10, 2019 at Etowah Healthcare Center. James retired from a teaching career at Central High School of McMinn County, the Tennessee Air National Guard, and finished his working days as an investor/stock trader from home. He is preceded in death by his parents Joel and Lillian Davis. Survivors include first cousins and friends.

Jimmy was a born again Christian and lived in a manner that reflected that decision and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He was an exceptional baseball pitcher in his youth and completed his career as a player at Tennessee Wesleyan.

The family wants to thank Mr. and Mrs. Doug Whitener, and the staff and administration at Etowah Healthcare Center for providing care and friendship in his retirement years.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2019 at McMinn Memory Gardens with Layspeaker John Cockrell officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
