James Allen Galyon, age 67, of Athens, TN passed from this earthly state to live eternally with The Lord and those that have gone before him. Allen was described by his family and friends as a wonderful man who loved and gave of himself and trusted in the Word of God for salvation. He worked as an auto body repair specialist all of his adult life in locations from Texas to Tennessee.

He served as an Elder of the Athens Christian Church where he attended for many years. He was preceded in death by his first wife Sharon Turner Galyon, parents Ernest Boyd Galyon and Vesta Marie Galyon. He is survived by and greatly missed by his loving wife, Gail Cook Galyon; stepson, Chris Cochran; grandson whom he adored, Hunter Cochran; siblings, Donna Barnes, Sherry (Joe) Hixon, Scott (Lynn) Galyon, Ronny Galyon, Heather (Bryan)Lamb; brothers-n-law and spouses, Dale (Cathy) Cook, Larry (Vickie) Cook, and Danny Cook all of Niota; several nieces and nephews.

Allen wished to continue helping others after his departure and gave to the Nashville Donor Center. A memorial service in honor of his life will be held at 2 pm December 30, 2017 at the Athens Christian Church. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service.
