James "Jim" Leland Anderson, 77, of Etowah, TN, passed away, Friday, October 25, 2013 at his residence. He was a son of the late Gurley "GG" and Grace Anderson. Preceded in death by brother, Harold Anderson; sister, Mildred McNelley; grandson, Griffin Anderson; brothers-in-law, Lenton Wilson and J.L. Rice; former sister-in-law, Barbara Moses Anderson. Jim graduated from Samford University School of Pharmacy with a BS degree in pharmacy and retired as owner and pharmacist of Anderson Drug store. Jim was an avid UT sports fan, antique cars, RVing and traveling. He loved and valued family time. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Judy Anderson of Etowah; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and David Brown of Etowah; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Shannon Anderson of Etowah, James and Heather Anderson of Etowah; 7 grandchildren and spouses, Kevin and Erica Williams, Matt and Larissa Brown, Logan Anderson, Skylar Anderson, Gracin Anderson, Gavin Anderson, and Carter Anderson; 4 great-grandchildren, Kelsey , Addison, and Tucker Williams, and Parker Brown; brothers and sister-in-law, John Anderson of FL, Sam and Bobbie Anderson of Etowah, Steve and Brenda Anderson of AL, Stan and Faye Anderson of Etowah; brother-in-law, Charles and Nadine Wilson of Etowah; sisters and brother-in-law, Marjorie Rice of Ocoee, TN, Mary Lou and Bill McKinney of Etowah, Betsy and Jim Powers of Athens; special friends: Don and Lucille Casey, and Barbara Davis; special care givers, Teresa, Shelli, Lisa, Julie, Kathy, Jane, Kim and Bridgett. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Monday October 28, 2013 at North Etowah Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Wade officiating. Family will receive friends at the church Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m. committal service. Pallbearers will be Matt Brown, Logan Anderson, Gavin Anderson, Kevin Williams, Dennis Riden, Micah Bush and David Truelove.
