James Farley Miller, 86, of Etowah, TN passed away February 15, 2013, following a brief stay at Brakebill Nursing Home. A resident of Etowah most of his life, Jim served in the Navy 2 years and later retired from DuPont in Chattanooga. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and walking. Jim was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he once served as Elder. His final years were spent in Lenoir City at the Baptist Health Care Assisted Living and most recently, Elmcroft of West Knoxville Heartland Village. Our deepest gratitude to all the staff who so lovingly cared for him over the past 4 years. Preceded in death by parents, Oleva Burger White and William J. Miller, wives, Mary Helen Masden and Jane Ethridge Cobb; siblings, Vida Mae Rucker, Nina Miller Majors, Nora Lee Miller Tatum, Hubert White, John Miller, Harry Miller, Charles Miller, and Fred Miller. Survivors include sons, Mike Miller and wife, Gay, Chris Miller and wife, Margaret, step-daughter, Rose Cobb Anders and husband, Kent; grandchildren, Dea Miller Rice (Scott), Gina Miller Headrick (Jeremy), Kate Miller- Bains (Adam), Julie Miller, step-grandchildren, Cristi Anderson Stevens (Tripp), Tucker and Abigail Anders; and 3 great-grandchildren.Funeral Service will be held at Noon, Monday, February 18, 2013 in the South Chapel, of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Pierce officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to Noon, Monday prior to the service. Interment to follow service in Cochran Cemetery with Military Honors.
