James "Johnny" Russell Alloway, 73, of Etowah, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at his residence.He was a member of Etowah Church of God and was a son of the late Robert and Beulah Alloway. He was preceded in death by one son, James Alloway Jr.; one daughter, Jeanette Roseline Alloway Horwitz; two sisters, Sue and Maralane Alloway; and two brothers, David and Reid Alloway. He loved spending time with friends and enjoyed life.Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lois McGahhey Alloway of Etowah; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Dan Keesey of California; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Amy Alloway of California, and Tony and Tracy Bilinski Alloway of Englewood; one sister, Nell Jo Curtiss of North Carolina; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Marian Miller; four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Bill and Jean Hafley-Ferguson, Frances Whitted, Jim and Martha Womack and Johnny and Elaine Foskey; 13 grandchildren, Kevin, Bobby and Jennifer Keesey, Chase, Samantha, Nalani, Jamie, Adam, Deanna, Hal and Chris Alloway and Brandon and Heather Bilinski; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many friends and loved ones; and a loving friend, Hazel Moses.Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Bryan and Evangelist David Lee Watson officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
