James "Adam" Yoder, 38, of Maryville went to Heaven to be in the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Adam was born in Athens and raised in Etowah, TN. He spent several years of his young adult life in Henderson, Nevada where he attended Silverado High School before marrying and returning to Etowah. He most recently resided in Maryville, TN. He frequently attended Faith Promise Church in Knoxville.
Loved by all who knew him, Adam was happiest making others smile and laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, listening to music, and riding motorcycles. Adam was a talented musician and actor with a passion for playing drums, rare coin collecting, and being an actor in several television shows, movies, documentaries, and commercials. He was preceded in death by grandparents Fred and Inez Dillard Yoder and Lloyd and Harriet Cooper Powell, all of Etowah. The family would like to pay a special tribute to his cousin and close friend Kelli Parks Johnston who also passed away earlier this year and his very close friend Eric Melton who passed away too early in life. He was the son of James and Dora Powell Yoder, brother of Tabatha Yoder and Misty Murphy and her husband Jason Murphy, and uncle to Dakota and Brooklyn Murphy, all of Maryville. Adam leaves behind Lisa Smith and four children and two grandchildren: Brittainy and Eric Barger with their two children Zaylen and Emreigh; Alex and Brandon Cooper; and Alyssa Wheeler, all of Knoxville. He's also survived by aunts and uncles: Fred and Shelia Yoder, David and Wanda Yoder, and Anita Yoder, all of Etowah; Mary Ann and the late Harlon Lequire of Greenback; Nancy and the late "Bud" Gilles of Athens; and Phyllis and Charles Goodwin of Walling.
Adam also leaves behind one of his best friends, James Budd, Nicholette Davis, Leslie Kincaid and Haze Geren, Lacey Rucker, and numerous cousins and friends.

Philippians 4:6-7 "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus."
