Jamie Byrum Derrick, 45, of Etowah passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jamie was a former employee of The H. T. Hackney Company and a member of First Baptist Church of Etowah.

Jamie is preceded in death by her father, Steven C. Byrum.

Jamie is survived by her loving husband, Glen Derrick; daughter McKenzie Kedel; son, Thomas Kedel; bonus children, Landon Derrick, Bethany Derrick, Carissa (Joe) Scealf; parents, Thom and Carolyn Johnson; grandmothers, Elizabeth Moates and Marie Johnson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chris Byrum, Clay (Melody) Byrum, Tammy Martinez, 5 bonus grandchildren and her fur babies, Izzy and Bass.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Etowah with Rev. Allan Lovelace officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will follow the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society c/o Ms. Pery Riden 172 County Road 759 Riceville, TN 37370 in memory of Jamie.
