Janice Ison Webb,79, of Etowah, TN passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024.

Janice dedicated much of her life to excellence in education. She was valedictorian of both her high school and college graduating classes. Additionally, she completed her Masters in Mathematics at the University of Tennessee. She taught algebra and physics at McMinn Central High School for 23 years.

After retiring, Janice served on the board of the McMinn County Education Foundation for twelve years and as chair of the Teacher Mini-Grants program. Janice was very proud of the Foundation's work with the Imagination Library. She and her husband, Henry, were awarded the Ignite Award (2016) for their service and financial support to M.C.E.F. Janice also served on three library boards: the Etowah Carnegie Library, the E.G.Fisher Library, and the Fort Loudoun Regional Library.

Janice was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Etowah, for 60 years. During that time she served in many capacities, including secretary to the administrative board for over 20 years.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, L.E. Ison, Sr. and Margaret Buchanan Ison; two brothers, L.E. Ison, Jr. and Don Ison; and one sister, JoAnne Ison.

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Henry Webb, Jr.; one son, Henry Nelson Webb, III and wife Betsy; one daughter, Marnie Webb Rodgers and husband, Geoff; two grandsons, Nate Webb (Nina Pizzo), Sam Webb (Sara); and one granddaughter, Mary Margaret Rodgers (Jesse Bates). She is also survived by special friends, Melissa Brewer, Fayelynn Ingram, and Joyce Reyes.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20th at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the church.
