James Cecil "J.C." Blankenship, 81 of Etowah, TN passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017. He was a son of the late Roy and Ora Watkins Blankenship. He was the owner of Mableton Marble & Granite Co, Mableton, GA until his retirement. He was a Kidney transplant recipient of 18 years.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Spencer "Grub" Blankenship; nephew, Danny Blankenship.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ann Lawson Blankenship; daughter, Kelley Ann Blankenship of Hiram, GA; sister-in-law, Carolyn Blankenship of FL; 2 nieces and 1 nephew; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, J.L. "Nubbin" and Diane Lawson. J.C. enjoyed spending time at their places in the mountains, especially the place on Tipton Creek, NC. Thank you Amedisys Hospice for their exceptional care and special thank you to Melissa for being his angel.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 2 at Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Highlander officiating.Family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday prior to the service. Interment will follow service to Green Hill Cemetery.
