JC Evans, 84 of Athens, TN went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday Oct. 18, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. He was a son of the late Charlie "Frosty" and Mertal Elizabeth Evans; a member of New Zion Baptist Church; and retired from Bowater in 1997 after 40 years of service

Preceded in death by his parents, listed above; infant sister, Rena Evans; brothers, John Evans and Edward Evans.

Survived by his wife, Irene Evans; son and daughter-in-law, John Charles Jr. and Linda Evans; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Livingston and Elbert Lane, Jenny and Billy Jones; grandchildren, Machelle Frank, William Reno, Anthony Watson, Jerry Livingston, Heather Kerns, Marsheena Lance and Miranda Watson; sisters, Louise Holt, Patsy Braddy, Juline Alverson and Linda Scarborough.

Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Hatcher officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at New Zion Cemetery, Friday, October 21, 2016 for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
