Obituary

Jeffery Mazowieski, a beloved husband, father, papa, brother, and friend, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the age of 68. Jeffery led a life of marked service, love, and unwavering dedication to his country, family, and friends.

As a senior master sergeant in the United States Air Force, Jeffery proudly served his country for 24 years. His commitment to duty and leadership inspired many, and he was deeply respected by his peers. Following his military service, Jeffery embraced life with a renewed vigor, nurturing passions and spending cherished moments with his loved ones.

Among his many interests, Jeffery found joy in fishing, something that allowed him to bond with nature and create lasting memories with family. He also had a profound love for his grandbabies, always delighting in their company and encouraging their growth. A devoted baseball fan he enjoyed watching the game and sharing that passion with those around him.

Jeffery is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Mazowieski, and their sons: Chris (Leslie) Mazowieski and James (Katie) Mazowieski; daughter, Amy (Mike) Hicks. He took immense pride in his grandchildren, granddaughter Cambrie Murphy and grandsons Brewer, Mack, and Cal Mazowieski. He also leaves behind his siblings, Cathy (John) Newman, Bill (Jan) Mazowieski, Jay (Cindy) Mazowieski, Kari Mazowieski, and Krissie Mazowieski, as well as his brother-in-law, Jimmy Wigglesworth. His extended family includes cousins, Patti Asdahl and Hazel Wilkins, nephews and nieces Jennifer Mazowieski, Danny Newman, Jason Mazowieski, Samantha Mazowieski, Sarah Mazowieski and Justin Mazowieski. Jeffery cherished the lifelong friendships he built especially with Barb, Willie and Smokey Hale, Brian, Kaitlyn, and Luna Doser, Shane Jepsen, Carlos, Correa, and Pink.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Mazowieski; his mother-in-law, Betty Wigglesworth; and his nephew, Zachary Walker.

The family extends a sincere thank you to Jesus Melendez, his primary care physician, the entire cardiac team at Erlanger, Heart and Vascular Institute, the Apex Vascular Team, the vascular team at University Surgical Associates, Dr. Hall and the wound care nurses at Starr Regional Medical, as well as Fresenius Kidney Care in Athens, all for their exceptional care support.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 15 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Cardin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Sunday prior to the service.
