Jerry Alvin Buchanan, 43, of Englewood, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was of the Church of Christ faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Wayne Buchanan; and his grandparents, Murriel and Ulyses Moses and Giles and Ida Lou Buchanan. Survivors include his mother, Brenda Buchanan of Englewood; one brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Teresa Buchanan of Etowah; one sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Johnny Goforth of Englewood; three nieces, Kylie Buchanan and Chelsie and Sierra Goforth; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Bordwine Funeral Home with Minister Pat Wilson officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, and will proceed to Macedonia Cemetery for the 11 a.m. burial.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
